Hey all. I have a Xfew questions. first, what is the technical name for those cords that have a 3.5 mm male connecter on each end? and where is a good site for them? The most important thing i want to know is the technical name for them. thank you.;NAME ;'
I'd probably send you to radioshack.com. I find it pretty easy to serch for stuff there.
I'm trying to think of that plug size, and I think they are miniplugs. If you tell me what you're trying to hook up, I can tell you with perhaps a little more certainty.

As always lou you beat me to the punch. yes, minny plugs are what they are otherwise called 8th inch plugs. Submini is 16thinch mini is 8thinch and those nice large ones that plug in to tape decks are called quarter inch phone plugs. Phono plugs or point plugs are the RCA plugs that are usually used to connect a device such as a cd player or tape deck to a receiver.
ok. i'm trying to hook up a cd player or computer to an fm transmitter.
basically i need a 3.5 mm male on each end of the cord.
It sounds like what you want is a cord with a stereo miniplug on each end. I'm assuming your transmitter takes stereo inputs. Having said that, you might try going to a nearby Radioshack or other electronics supply store, and praying for an intelegent sales person. Ask them to eyebal one of the devices which you will bring with you. They can probably find the exact plug you need. You gotta give it to those optically enhanced people sometimes.
Willie, thanks for the much more concise description of plug and connector types than I would have given. I tend to get pretty verbose at times.
Lou
